De beoordeling van het ECG is niet klaar zonder een conclusie te trekken. Als je het 7 stappenplan doorlopen hebt, is het resultaat een opsomming van feiten, maar nog geen conclusie. Iemand die de vraag stelt: "wat moet ik met dit ECG?", wil die feiten waarschijnlijk niet horen, maar wil weten wat hij of zij moet doen met de patient.  
Working through the seven steps, one still has to draw a final conclusion. The final conclusion is the starting point for further treatment of your patient.  
Daarvoor is het lef nodig om een conclusie te trekken. Voorbeelden van conclusies die je zou kunnen trekken zijn:
* "Sinustachycardie met ST elevatie over de voorwand, passend bij een acuut voorwandinfarct"
* "Supraventriculaire tachycardie van 200/min op basis van een AV nodale re-entry"
* "Oud onderwandinfarct met nu een acuut lateraal myocard-infarct met QRS verbreding ten opzichte van het ECG van 14 augustus vorig jaar"
* "Normaal ECG"


Bij voorkeur omvat de conclusie 1 zin, waarin alle belangrijke aspecten staan. Het is daarbij dus niet nodig alle 7 stappen aan bod te laten komen, maar om tot een goede conclusie te komen heb je die natuurlijk wel nodig!
Often it is not easy to conclude. Exemples are:
* "Sinustachycardia with ST elevatie, likely be caused by acute myocardial infarction"
* "Supraventricular tachycardia of 200 beat per minute caused by an AV nodal re-entry"
* "Previous infarction combined with an acute lateral myocard infarction with withening of the QRS complexes"
* "Normal ECG"
 
Final conclusions should be made of one sentense, which sums all important aspects of the ECG. It is not nescecary to mention all 7 aspects, however one have to look at all of them to find the right conclusion!
